A HOTEL chain is planning to expand in Leamington after snapping up the former bank next door.
Premier Inn already has an 82-bedroom site at the bottom of the Parade which it says is nearly always at full capacity.
When the former Barclays bank became available next door, the hotel chain took the opportunity to expand.
Planning permission has been granted to turn the upstairs floors of the building into 19 additional bedrooms, while the ground floor will be converted into a restaurant.
The former bank vault in the basement will not be removed due to the cost, but hotel bosses say it will instead be used as a rest room for staff.
