Installation of a new bridge over A46 put back

THE INSTALLATION of a new bridge over the A46 near Stoneleigh has been put back.

The milestone in the £38million A46 Stoneleigh Junction scheme, which is aiming to reduce regular delays and queueing traffic, improve road safety fand ensure the junction has the capacity needed to meet future in the region, was set to take place between December 13 and 18.

But Warwickshire County Council has now decided to order to carry out the installation of the brige deck between January 17 and 22 in order to minimise disruption in the run up to Christmas.

The putting in place of the bridge deck in position will require lane closures on the by-pass.

WCC highways spokesman Coun Wallace Redford said: “These lane closures are essential in order to allow for delivery and installation of the bridge deck.

“We would like to sincerely thank local residents for their continued patience with these essential developments to the junction, which forms part of this council’s commitment to ensuring that residents are supported through excellent transport infrastructure.”
