Kenilworth and Warwick Trefoil Guild celebrates its 50th anniversary

Leamington Editorial 5th May, 2023   0

A SPECIAL celebratory lunch was served to mark Kenilworth and Warwick Trefoil Guild’s 50th anniversary.

Members and guests of the trefoil guild – part of girlguiding but for adults – sat down to the slap up meal at Kenilworth golf club.

Members agree to support the guiding ethos, just like the youngsters, including taking the spirit of girlguiding out into the community.

Several members have been leaders in guiding, but others decided to join to make new friends and participate in activities. People do not need to have ever been involved in guiding to be a member.

The trefoil guild enjoy a varied programme of monthly meetings plus other events and outings throughout the year.

They have speakers on a wide range of subjects, with their own members sometimes sharing their experiences or skills.

And they have helped with fundraising and made items such as baby blankets and bonnets for new-born babies at Warwick hospital.

The guild support the local Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers at some of their events, passing on skills and knowledge.

A spokesperson for the guild said: “We are still going strong after 50 years so we must be doing something right.”
