A SOUTH Warwickshire kindness charity has funded a relaxation room at a mental health hospital.
Evelyn’s Gift donated the money to create an area for patients to relax in at St Michael’s Hospital’s Willowvale Ward.
The charity was formed by Helen Smith, who wanted to do something positive in memory of her daughter Evelyn Mary, who passed away suddenly in 2013 when she was just seven years-old.
Helen met ward staff earlier this year to hear about their plans and offer ideas on transforming the area, but due to the pandemic has been unable to visit the hospital.
But the charity has continued to donate the money so work could take place.
Helen said: “It’s great to be able to spread little acts of kindness and we hope that the new area will make a big difference to patients.”
And ward manager Nicky Collis added: “We are extremely grateful to Helen and Evelyn’s Gift for their kind donation. Our ward staff have been able to decorate the room and make it a comfortable and relaxing area for our patients, which is much needed at this time.”
