Lanterns to light up the half-term holidays at Stratford's Guildhall

LANTERNS are set to light up the half term holiday at Shakespeare’s Schoolroom and Guildhall.

Crafty families will be able to make lanterns inspired by Stratford’s most iconic landmarks from Saturday February 14 until Sunday February 22.

Participants can choose from two designs – one featuring Shakespeare’s Schoolroom and Guildhall, and the other a townscape of some of Stratford’s most recognisable buildings.

Taking place in the atmospheric surroundings of the Master’s Chamber, visitors can cut out, assemble and decorate their chosen design before turning it into a lantern to take home. Craft packs can be collected on arrival from the welcome desk and include a battery candle to light up the finished lantern.

General Manager Lindsey Armstrong said: “The lanterns are a lovely decoration to make and a beautiful reminder of your visit to Shakespeare’s Schoolroom and Guildhall. It’s a simple way to brighten up the darker days for the whole family to enjoy.”
