A CARE home worker from Leamington is cracking open the bubbly after scooping a national award.
Laura Renalson from Cubbington Mill care home beat off all the competition to be crowned National Customer Experience Champion in the Barchester Care Awards 2022.
The Barchester Care Awards celebrate the staff who go the extra mile for the benefit of the 12,000 residents living in Barchester’s 250 care homes and private hospitals across the country.
Categories range from ‘Registered Nurse of the Year’ and ‘Carer of the Year’ to ‘Dementia Care Champion’ and ‘Activities Coordinator of the Year’.
More than 2,960 nominations were received from homes and hospitals across the UK. All entries were a very high standard and Laura is over the moon to have been named the national winner over hundreds of other nominees.
Laura’s win was announced at a special national award ceremony which took place on Wednesday (October 12) to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Barchester’s many exemplary staff members.
Laura said: ‘I am overwhelmed to have won The National Award for Barchester Customer Experience Champion 2022. I am so proud to be a part of the fantastic family at Cubbington Mill Care Home.”
Laura joined Cubbington Mill over a decade ago and supports every department but her main role is administrative assistant. Laura feels such a close bond with the home and even supported her own mother to move into the home in 2016 until she sadly passed away. Laura treats every resident like her own family and their loved ones alike.
General Manager, Laura Russell said: “This is an amazing achievement and the whole home is supporting Laura Renalson. We are so proud of her, the award is thoroughly deserved. She received an astounding amount of nominations for this award from residents, families and colleagues.”
