Leamington in Bloom becomes the Leamington in Bloom Partnership

LEAMINGTON in Bloom has been relaunched as the Leamington in Bloom Partnership.

It also has a refreshed logo that celebrates both the town’s Regency heritage and its green spaces, while a open afternoon is planned for later this month.

The new Partnership brings together local environmental and community groups from across the town. It includes 12 associate members, representing ARC, Action 21, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, Bee Friendly Leamington, Rewilding Brunswick, Leam Trash Friends, The Sydni Centre, Brunswick Hub, CLEAN, All Saints Church Labyrinth, Friends of Midland Oak Park, Friends of Black Lane, Paintings Plantation, Cycleways and Social Gardening.

This year, Leamington in Bloom will lead a range of initiatives and projects, including the Green Grants Scheme, which offers six grants of £200 to support the creation and development of community gardens, wildlife areas, vegetable plots, animal habitats, and other biodiversity improvements.

The town will be entering into the Heart of England in Bloom competition, which includes a judges’ tour of green spaces across the town. A photographic competition will launch towards the end of May and run until August, while the commercial premises competition for Leamington business will take place in June.

The programme also includes a stall at Art in the Park this summer and a revamp of the Packington Place pocket park.

And an Open Afternoon at the Town Hall will take place on Saturday March 28 from 12 until 3pm. The event will bring together a wide range of local environmental and community groups, each showcasing their work and future projects through individual stalls.

Open to all residents and visitors, the afternoon will provide an opportunity to learn more about the initiatives planned for the year ahead and discover how to get involved in helping to make Leamington an even greener and more vibrant town. Refreshments and free children’s activities will be available throughout the event.
