Leamington jewellers mark retirement with final big sale

Leamington Editorial 16th Nov, 2022   0

A FAMILY-run Leamington jewellers is shutting up shop – and everything must go in a big final sale.

Peter Stephan has been a fixture of Warwick Street for the past 20 years, but husband and wife owners Colin and Sandie Scamp have now decided to retire to spend more time with their family.

The sale will commence at 10am on Saturday (November 19) with all jewellery marked down by 50 per cent.

Both Colin and Sandie have a wealth of experience in the jewellery trade.

During a 45 year career, Colin was previously a director at Beards of Cheltenham and a stint at luxury jewellers Boodles, while Sandie has also spent her life within the jewellery industry.

Colin explained how they came to the tough decision to close their business.

“Royal Leamington Spa is a wonderful, vibrant town. The people are so friendly here and we have felt incredibly welcome; we will miss it terribly.

“After long careers as jewellers, and working in retail for all our lives, we are ready to retire.

“We have thought long and hard about closing the store, and it’s been an incredibly difficult decision. Particularly because the most enjoyable aspect of the business is the people that we meet; so many who have become good friends.

“For us, the time is right, and we are very much looking forward to spending time with our family; particularly our grandchildren. We hope that our customers will take this final opportunity to buy a piece that they can treasure from our high-quality collection.”
