Leamington Mayor gives back to homeless charity with Civic Dinner

THE MAYOR of Leamington knows what it is like to be homeless having spent time living on the streets of the town himself.

And Coun Nick Wilkins is inviting residents, dignitaries and businesses to a Civic Dinner from which all money raised will be donated to LWS Night Shelter which helps the town’s homeless.

The charity is close to his heart. Twenty years ago, he was sofa-surfing and even spent a couple of nights sleeping rough.

Now as Leamingtpn’s first citizen he is determined to do all he can to support the town’s homeless.

The evening of Christmas-themed entertainment is being held at All Saint’s Church, in Leamington from 7pm on Friday November 25. Tickets cost £39 each.

Nick said: “I hope you can join me for a fantastic evening to raise as much money as we possibly can for my chosen charity and to raise the profile of the valuable work they all do.

“LWS Night Shelter is there for the homeless and those who often feel ignored to provide a hot meal and company for the vulnerably-housed members of the community in Leamington and the wider area.”

Tickets are available from Anne Goodey by calling 07936 638940 or by emailing [email protected]
