Leamington Morrisons helps tackle holiday hunger

MORRISONS in Leamington has been helping tackle holiday hunger.

Young People First and Lillington Youth Centre both received £100 each from the supermarket.

The two centres will use the cash to support families and children who may be struggling with putting food on the table over the summer holidays.

Jo Squires, centre manager at Young People First, said: ‘We are so grateful to Morrisons for this £100 donation to fight holiday hunger. We will be using this money to go towards lunches for the 12 families we are taking on a day-trip to the beach this summer. Many of these families do not have resources to enable them to go on a holiday, and many of them have never seen the sea at all and so we hope this trip will be a fantastic day for them all.

“This donation will enable us to provide food for them to ensure there is no worry of having no available food while out for the day. Massive thanks to Morrisons for this generous provision.’

Claire Crawford from Lillington Youth Centre added: “Everyone at Lillington Youth Centre are so grateful for the gift voucher donation of £100 from Morrisons. It will go towards supporting young people in our open access summer youth clubs in Lillington. Thank-you so much.”
