Leamington Repair Cafe aims to smash its repair record

THE REPAIR Cafe in Leamington is aiming to smash its fixing record at the weekend.

The repair cafe is set to meet on Saturday (May 13) at the SYNDI Centre and volunteers hope they can set yet another repair record.

At the last repair cafe they managed to fix 28 out of the 32 items that came in, which is more than ever before.

This included an old typewriter which was reconnected by repairer Chris Todd. Its owner learnt to type on this machine and went on to be a magazine journalist.

People can being along any broken items for repair – from garden machinery and bikes, to electrical items and toys.

The event runs from 11am until 2pm and there will be snacks, coffee and all-day breakfasts served at the SYNDI Cafe.
