BUDDING gardeners from a Leamington school are set to inspire tens of thousands of visitors to BBC Gardeners’ World Live with their very own garden of remembrance.
Trinity Catholic School’s history research group is taking part in the major gardening show held at NEC Birmingham next week.
Their ‘Bud and Blossom Reflection Garden is a tribute designed by the school’s history research group to commemorate 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz and the end of the second world war.
This thoughtfully designed space aims to bring together students, staff, and the wider community through a shared experience rooted in faith, remembrance, and healing.
The garden’s symmetrical layout, defined by delicate pebble pathways, symbolises unity and reflection, while a tranquil central pool invites quiet contemplation.
Triangular planting beds pay homage to both the Holy Trinity and the theme of unity – core tenets of the school’s Catholic identity. At the centre stands a Silver Birch Memorial Tree, where visitors are encouraged to hang the names of loved ones, creating a deeply personal and interactive space for remembrance.
The students said: “We’re really excited to be part of this event because it’s a chance for us to remember important moments in history and show respect to those who were affected. It also brings us together as a school to create something special that reflects our faith and values.”
