Leamington Town Council hands out £17,500 in community grants

MORE than £17,500 has been given out to local charities and organisations by Leamington Town Council.

Each financial year, the town council makes a budget provision for grants to be awarded to local groups and organisations to assist with specific projects.

There are three rounds of grants awarded each year and in this round of grants the town council allocated £17,578 to worthy community activities.

Deadlines for future rounds of the Community Grant Funding are August 4 and December 10. Details can be found at www.leamingtonspatowncouncil.gov.uk




Leamington mayor Coun Alan Boad said: “The town council’s community grant fund is open for community and voluntary groups delivering projects which will benefit residents of Leamington. I’m delighted to announce that we have awarded more than £17,500 to very worthwhile projects for the coming year.”

The grants, for this round, were given for a wide range of projects to benefit the local community including The SPARKS – Incredible Edible project to develop community growing spaces, The Leamington History Group to encourage historical research to explore the theme of ‘Made in Leamington’, The Myton Hospices, National Childbirth Trust Warwickshire, 1st North Leamington Scout Group, and Arts Uplift Community Interest Company to deliver mentoring in arts and crafts to support those on probation.
