A FLAMBOYANT singer from Leamington has been voted out of the X Factor after a dramatic showdown.

Former Campion School pupil Bradley Hunt appeared in the live finals alongside friend Ottavio Columbro – together known as Bratavio.

But the duo were eliminated in the first of the live shows after a failing to secure the support of viewers and judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.

Their mentor Louis was the only one to vote for the pair when they sang for survival on Sunday (October 9) night against Finnish competitor Saara Aaolto.

The previous night they had performed Barbie Girl by Aqua and Boom Boom by the VengaBoys Their final song on the show was Yazz’s The Only Way is Up.

Speaking about their unwelcome exit, 23-year-old Bradley – who works at Spangles in Coventry – said: “We gave it our best shot, but if the public didn’t connect with us then there’s nothing we can do.

“We weren’t surprised to find ourselves in the bottom two. In fact, we already had our bags packed.

“Saara is amazing – she has such an incredible vocal range. We weren’t surprised that the other judges didn’t pick us because, ultimately, the best singer has to go through.”

Bratavio first made an impression on the show after a dramatic audition following a row over food.

Bradley was supposed to appear alongside Otavio but after an argument about uncooked chicken they parted ways and prepared to showcase their talents separately.

That was until judges of the singing competition called for the duo to make up.

After a tearful reconciliation they performed a rendition of Buttons by the Pussycat Dolls much to the delight of Nicole Scherzinger – the girl group’s former lead singer.

After their performance Bradley and Ottavio were tipped to become the next ‘Jedward’ – after the eccentric pair of Irish twins John and Edward – who previously appeared on the show.
