Librarian rewarded for impressive service

A LIBRARIAN has been rewarded for her top service.

Myton School library manager Lucy Thompson scooped the gold award from Warwickshire Schools Library Service.

It recognises how well primary and secondary school libraries are performing.

The award comes four years after former library manager Elaine Dodson was given the first award in the county. The much-loved librarian recently passed away and in her memory a Student Librarian of the Year award was created.

Myton head student librarian 15 year-old Ella Davies was one of those to receive the award.

Headteacher Andrew Perry said: “We are very pleased to receive this gold award from the Schools Library Service, recognising the dedication of Myton staff and student librarians.

“We are very proud of our library at Myton and also of the student librarian team who are an excellent example of student leadership.”
