Lorry driver who died in motorway smash named

THE lorry driver who died following a three lorry crash on the M40 has been named.

Francis Alan Spring, age 54 from Manchester, died when his vehicle crashed with two other lorries on the northbound carriageway of the M40 between junctions 11 and 12 near Burton Dassett.

Emergency services were alerted around 2.30am on Tuesday (May 23) to the scene.

Two ambulances attended the scene along with police and fire services.




Sadly Mr Spring was confirmed dead at the scene.

A second lorry driver, a man in his 50s, was out of his vehicle when ambulances arrived and was treated for minor arm injuries and neck pain and discharged on scene.


A third patient with minor injuries was also treated.

Police say they continue to investigate and are urging any witnesses to call the Warwickshire Police collision line on 01926 41541.
