Man charged with stealing food from shops in Leamington

A MAN has appeared in court charged with stealing food from shops in Leamington.

Paul Mott, of no fixed abode, appeared before Coventry Magistrates’ in relation to four thefts between April 6 and April 17.

The 29-year-old also answered charges of assaulting a police officer as she attempted to remove him from a shop in the Parade on April 6.

Mott is also alleged to have refused to provide a drug test while in custody.




He was charged with four counts of theft, one count of common assault of an emergency worker and one count of a detainee charged with failing to provide a sample for a class A drug test.

Mott was remanded to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on April 23.
