Man punched in the face in racially aggravated attack

A MAN had to be taken to hospital after being punched in a racially aggravated attack.

The 32-year-old was on Warwick Street in Leamington, close to Clink Cellar Bar, when he was racially abused by around three or four white men.

One of the men then walked over to him and punched him in the face, leaving the man needing hospital treatment.

The attack took place at around 2.30am on Sunday April 1 but was not reported to police until recently.




Det cons Peter Yeardley is appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

He said: “This was a terrible incident and one which left the victim with a nasty injury. I appreciate that this occurred some time ago; however, I would appeal to members of the public who witnessed the incident or have any information to come forward and assist with our investigation.”
