Meeting to give update on Abbey Fields Lake in Kenilworth

WILDLIFE-loving residents are being invited to a meeting to find out more about plans for Abbey Fields Lake in Kenilworth.

The meeting will be held on Saturday March 4 and will include an update on the ongoing maintenance taking place at the lake, the wildlife and habitats.

Warwick District Council representatives will be there.

Calls were made last year for a biodiversity plan to be drawn up for Abbey Fields Lake after last summer’s drought led to hundreds of fish dying despite efforts by WDC to save them.

WDC deputy leader Coun Richard Hales said: “Following last summer’s drought and rehoming of the fish, we feel that it is important to give an update on the lake to all partners and interest groups in the community and also to listen to their views. We warmly encourage local people to come along.”

Those wishing to attend should meet at 10am in the Abbey Fields car park.
