NEW mums will receive improved mental health support thanks to an NHS funding boost.
South Warwickshire Foundation Trust and Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) put in a successful bid for £300,000 from NHS England.
The money will go towards training more staff, extending the age of children covered by care locally, reducing waiting lists and providing care for more women.
CWPT medical director Sharon Binyon said: “Around 12,000 babies are born in Coventry and Warwickshire each year, and this additional support will enable the NHS to extend care we offer to more babies and their parents.
“NHS staff already provide valuable support to mothers and families at this important time, and we will use this funding to help extend these services.”
