Organic food project opens doors to visitors at annual summer party

Leamington Editorial 7th Jul, 2017   0

AN ORGANIC food scheme is opening the garden gate to visitors at its annual summer party.

Canalside Community Food, based in Radford Semele, is a subscription fruit and veg project that serves around 150 local households.

Members of the scheme choose from small, medium or large boxes of locally grown produce, starting from £7.40 per week.

Ali Jeffery, an administrator for the scheme, said: “Our summer party is an ideal opportunity for people to come and meet us, and celebrate the season with members of our scheme.”

Party-goers can join in with a barn dance, enjoy local ales, and hot and cold food made using veggies grown on the farm.

Tickets for the summer party are £5 for Canalside members (£7 for non-members/under 16s free).

Tickets are also available at the Gaia Co-op on Regent Place in Leamington.
