GHOSTLY-goings on at Leamington railway station have led to it being named one of the UK’s most haunted stations.

It is on a new list of spooky stations where commuters are most likely to experience paranormal activity.

The Old Warwick Road station has been plagued by all manner of unexplained eerie events since trains first started running back in 1880.

Station staff over the years have reported electrical equipment turning itself off, doors slamming by themselves and the sounds of footsteps, leading operator Chiltern Railways to appoint staff member Nick Rees as ‘Supernatural Liaison Officer’ in 2014.

His role is help deal with the rising number of spooky antics at the station.

He said: “I get on with people and I can make anyone smile. I suppose that’s why I can go about my duties as a Supernatural Liaison Officer. I respect them and they respect me.”
