A TODDLER was left with a black eye after allegedly being pelted with apples by teenagers.

Four year-old Corey Chesterton was at Whitnash Park on Washbourne Road in Leamington when he was attacked.

Mum, 29 year-old Kirsty Chesterton, had taken the family to her sister’s home on Rowley Road for dinner on Tuesday (July 25).

She said her son, his seven year-old sister Macey and cousins Alsie, six, and Millie, ten, went to the park which is at the back of the house.

Kirsty says at around 6pm she heard Corey screaming and when she went out she found her son crying and in pain.

The people responsible had disappeared before she got to the park.

Corey was taken to hospital where he was treated for a bruised cheek.

The family and Warwickshire Police are now appealing for information.

A police spokeswoman said: “It was reported a four-year-old boy had been hit by an apple which was thrown at his face by an unknown offender.

“It is believed the offender was a part of a group, described as teenagers, who made off after the incident.

“Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any information that could assist with enquiries.”

Call police on 101 with any information.
