Plans to build 150 extra homes in Warwick look set to be given green light

PLANS to build an additional 150 homes at Lower Heathcote Farm in Warwick look set to be given the green light.

Warwick District Council has already earmarked the land and neighbouring Gallows Hill for 1,500 new homes.

But its planning committee look set to give an application for an additional 150 homes the go-ahead when the application is discussed on Tuesday (November 6).

If approved it will see the properties built between the ongoing housing development at Lower Heathcote and the Tachbrook Country Park.

The proposals have received objections from Bishops Tachbrook Parish Council which says the number of homes is higher than those laid out for the area in the local plan – which shapes the future of the district until 2029 – and that it would cut into the land signposted for the country park.

But developers Gallagher Estates say 40 per cent of the homes would be affordable and meet the ‘urgent unmet need’ across the district.
