POINTLESS presenter turned author Alexander Armstrong brought some magic when he dropped in at the newly opened Kenilworth School.

He was there to sign copies of his new book Evenfall: The Golden Linnet, which tells the story of 13-year-old Sam who thinks he’s an ordinary boy, but is in fact is part of an ancient, secret order of quiet heroes who once protected the world.

As well as pupils from the Glasshouse Lane school, Alexander was joined over 300 pupils from St John’s Primary School, Parkhill Junior School, Priorsfield Primary School, St Nicholas Primary School, St Augustine’s Catholic School and Clinton Primary School

The visit was arranged by the town’s book shop Kenilworth Books. Coaches for the visit were sponsored by housebuilder Persimmon Homes who have two developments in town – Kenilworth Gate and Thickthorn Gardens.

The company also gave out copies of their ‘Cones’ books which takes children on a journey of how a house is built and about safety on site.
