POLICE have charged a man in connection with a reported incident in which a shopworker was allegedly assaulted after he confronted a shoplifter.
Officers were called to a shop in Old Warwick Road on Thursday (May 5) evening.
Daniel Leech, 33, of Avenue Road, Leamington was arrested and has since been charged with theft and assault.
He will appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on July 1.
