Police officer injured and windows smashed in mass Warwick disturbance

A POLICE officer was injured and windows smashed during a mass disturbance in the heart of Warwick on Friday night.

Police responded to reports of trouble in Old Square shortly before 10pm on Friday night.

A force spokesman said: “Officers attending dealt with a large group of individuals involved in the disturbance which had resulted in a number of property windows being broken.

“During the incident a police officer was assaulted with a piece of glass, sustaining minor injuries.




“A 17-year old-boy from Warwick has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to a building. He is currently in custody.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to witnesses to the disturbance, or anyone who with any information about those involved, to call them on 101 quoting incident 492 of 20 October.
