Portly pups found wandering streets looking for new home together

A PORTLY pair of pups are looking for a new home after they were found wandering the streets together.

Staff at the Dogs Trust in Kenilworth believe Labradors Penny and Percy must have lived together for a long time as they are completely inseparable.

The cuddly pair together tip the scales at 80kg so are on a diet to help them slim down by around 10kg each.

But five year-old Peggy and nine year-old Percy are still looking for a home together where they can enjoy leisurely walks and cuddles on the sofa.

Deputy manager Emma Healey said: “We hope Peggy and Percy don’t spend too long waiting for their special someone as they are super dogs with so much love to give. They are both incredibly friendly and love people and toys.

“They could both do with shedding some pounds so are on a strict diet to help them get back to their best. But they are very happy, sociable dogs and really do bring out the best in each other, so we are looking to keep them together as they seem to enjoy their life in each other’s company. We’re sure that in the right home and with plenty of support, they’ll settle in quickly and together they will become a slimming duo and shift the weight in no time.”

The duo could live with children over 12 years old and would prefer to be the only pets in the home.

Call the centre on 0300 303 0292 to find out more about rehoming the pair or any other of the dogs.
