AN ARTIST whose pregnancy has inspired her latest work is donating all proceeds to Warwick Hospital’s midwife led unit.
Rebecca Rimmer creates artwork using her typewriter and has made 40 hearts featuring inspirational quotes – such as ‘My body was made for this’ and ‘Worrying has no positive purpose’ – which are intended to give mums-to-be strength and support while they are expecting. She has made just 40 hearts to symbolise the 40 weeks of pregnancy.
Rebecca is seven months pregnant and plans to have her baby at the Bluebell Birth Centre early next year.
She wanted to support the centre’s Birth and Babies Appeal, which aims to raise £200,000 to fit the unit with items which do not come as standard on the NHS, such as birthing pools and slings.
Rebecca said: “I am due to give birth in February and I have primarily been focused on keeping a positive mental attitude, which can be really difficult in pregnancy. At times, pregnancy can seem overwhelming.
“I’ve found quotes like this have kept me sane and made me stay optimistic and focused on me hopefully having a good, healthy birth in this new amazing environment in Warwick that I feel we are very lucky to have. I now wanted to share these quotes with other parents-to-be across Warwickshire who are on the same path to parenthood.”
The Pregnancy Hearts cost £15 each. Visit sayitwithtype.com/pregnancyhearts to order or find out more.
