Pub turns art hub in Leamington

ARTY times are ahead for The Stoneleigh Arms in Leamington.

Lighthaus Arts CIC has been handed the keys to what will become a new creative community hub based at the former pub in Clemens Street.

The local artist-led organisation, dedicated to making the arts accessible for all, has officially signed the lease with Warwick District Council on the building, with the vision of establishing it as a permanent community arts space in the heart of the Creative Quarter.

The building has space across three floors for artists and makers to make, craft, exhibit and sell their art, and Lighthaus Arts will be running regular workshops and events with a strong focus on community and accessibility.

WDC’s arts spokesperson Coun Ella Billiald said: “We are delighted to welcome Lighthaus Arts CIC to The Stoneleigh Arms, creating a vibrant and accessible arts space for artists and makers in the district. I look forward to seeing the breadth of exhibitions and programmes they have planned.”

Cassie Leedham, co-director of Lighthaus Arts, continued: “Collecting the keys today marks a huge milestone, not just for us, but for the creative community in Leamington. The Stoneleigh Arms will be a place where anyone can walk in, feel welcome, get involved and create something. Accessibility is at the heart of everything we do; we believe art is for everyone, regardless of background, experience or confidence. This building is the beginning of a truly inclusive creative home for our community.”

Fellow co-director Maddie Webb added: “We’re thrilled to be launching our Arts Council England-funded project Grounding: Community Collaboration Creativity in February 2026. This programme will bring together local residents, our charity partners, emerging and established local artists to co-create, learn and build meaningful connections. Having

The Stoneleigh Arms as our base means we can deliver this work in a space shaped by and for the community. We can’t wait to get started.”
