A PUBLIC consultation is asking residents for feedback on proposals for a new community to the north of Southam.
A planning application is set to be submitted by homebuilder Taylor Wimpey for up to 275 homes on land west of Coventry Road. Up to 35 per cent will be affordable housing, and all homes will be low carbon to support sustainable living,
The proposals also include extensive public open spaces, children’s play areas and enhancements to increase habitats for nature.
If the planning application is approved, it is anticipated that Taylor Wimpey will make financial contributions to Stratford District Council to support local infrastructure.
Taylor Wimpey spokesperson Stephen Swinscoe said: “We are pleased to launch this consultation and invite the community to help shape our plans for this new neighbourhood in Southam.
“As well as providing much needed new homes, including affordable housing for local people, and a range of new facilities, our vision is to create a community which enhances the natural environment through significant green spaces and biodiversity improvements.
“We are seeking feedback on what kind of outdoor recreation facilities are needed locally and could be provided by the scheme. As well as this, we welcome all comments on our emerging proposals, and this consultation gives people the opportunity to influence how this new neighbourhood takes shape.”
Visit www.twcoventryroad.co.uk to take part in the consultation before the deadline of Sunday August 3.
A drop-in exhibition will also give people an opportunity to view the proposals, talk to the project team and ask questions. This will be held at The Graham Adams Centre in St James Road, Southam on Wednesday July 16 from 1pm until 6pm.
