Pupils turning pages on World Book Day

Laura Kearns 11th Mar, 2018

YOUNG bookworms at St Mary’s School in Southam were turning pages and heads.

Pupils and staff celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite book characters, with Alice in Wonderland, The Enchanted Wood and Where’s Wally proving popular choices.

And pupils at the primary school also also enjoyed a special assembly where they paraded their costumes before ending the day with a reading session.

This year marked the 21st anniversary of World Book Day, the annual worldwide celebration of reading, which encourages children of all ages to switch off the computer and bury their nose in a good book.
