Racecourse donation sees Air Ambulance racing to rescues across county

Leamington Editorial 10th Mar, 2018   0

THE AIR Ambulance has been racing to rescues across the county thanks to a £50,000 donation from Warwick Racecourse.

More than 30 people have been rescued by the service thanks to money raised by the racecourse at events over the past two years.

And 2018 will be no different, with a Cheltenham festival preview taking place in the Paddock Pavilion at the Countryside race day on Sunday (March 11).

The star-studded event will feature a panel with Grand National winning jockey Jason Maguire and leading trainers Dan Skelton and sports broadcaster Rupert Bell.

The day will also feature duck-herding demonstrations, magicians, falconry, stilt walkers, pony rides and face painting alongside the racing action on the track.

Racecourse manager Andre Klein said: “It is fantastic to be supporting the Air Ambulance Service for a third successive year and to have so far raised around £50,000.

“The raceday continues to be a great opportunity to raise awareness of the work carried out by the Air Ambulance Service and enjoy a great afternoon of family fun and racing too.”

Tickets to the Air Ambulance Cheltenham festival preview cost £80 per person and include a celebrity preview panel, private marquee, drinks reception and lunch.
