Referendum to be held on Bishop's Itchington's Neighbourhood Plan

Leamington Editorial 7th Dec, 2022   0

A REFERENDUM is being held in Bishop’s Itchington to determine how planning applications should be decided in the area.

Residents are being invited to head to the polls in January to vote on whether Stratford District Council should use the Neighbourhood Plan for Bishop’s Itchington to help decide planning applications in the parish.

The Neighbourhood Plan Referendum takes place on Thursday January 19 and to vote in these referendums, residents of Bishop’s Itchington must be registered to vote and be 18 or over on the day of the poll.

To check whether they are on the Electoral Register, or to register, residents can contact SDC’s Electoral Services on 01789 260208 no later than Tuesday January 3.

The polling station for this referendum will be at The Memorial Hall in Fisher Road.

Counting for the Neighbourhood Planning Referendums will take place on Friday January 20.

The referendum will be asking whether the community wish to see SDC use the Neighbourhood Plan to decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area (which is based on the parish boundary).

A number of documents have been produced in order to help with the voting process. These specified documents can be viewed on SDC’s website on the page dedicated to the specific referendums.

Alternatively, a printed version of the specified documents are available for inspection at the district council offices in Church Street, Stratford.

The Bishop’s Itchington Neighbourhood Plan was independently examined between May and August this year and the examiner recommended that, subject to some proposed modifications, the plan should proceed to referendum.
