THE REFURBISHED paddling pool at Victoria Park in Leamington has been closed less than a month after it reopened.
Warwick District Council made the decision to close the pool due to a range of “technical issues”. It is not expected to reopen for the rest of the school summer holidays.
A spokesperson said: “The council understands the disappointment that this will cause especially given the fine weather and is working hard with the contractors to fix the issues.”
The pool had been the subject of a much-needed upgrade, including non-slip surfaces, improved pool surrounds, jets and fountains with free-standing shades, and benches around the outside for parents.
The refurbishment had been beset by unforeseen delays with materials and parts.
Work to refurbish the paddling pool at St Nicholas Park in Warwick has yet to be completed due to “the more complex nature of the construction and ongoing challenges with onsite water levels”.
