RESIDENTS are invited to name the Nuneaton to Leamington railway line.
The Heart of England Community Rail Partnership is asking local communities to help choose a new name for the railway line between the two towns. This is a key rail line linking north and south Warwickshire with Coventry and members of the public are asked to submit a name that connects the seven stations along the line and gives it a real sense of identity.
The closing date for the competition is Saturday May 27 and entries will be short-listed by a panel of industry and community experts before the final decision goes to a public vote and the new name is unveiled at the Coventry Station Community Day in July. There will also be a prize for the winning entry.
The new name will then be used to inspire community-led artwork at all stations along the line, and The Heart of England Community Rail Partnership, together with rail industry partners such as West Midlands Railway, will be using it to promote the line and all it has to offer.
