Road closures for Leamington half marathon announced

Leamington Editorial 21st Jun, 2023   0

ROAD closures have been announced ahead of the Leamington Half Marathon on Sunday (June 25).

The hugely popular running event is set to welcome 2,000 runners to the streets of the town and surrounding villages.

And there will be rolling road closures throughout the morning of the race, to ensure the safety of runners, motorists, and the general public, with disruption being kept to a minimum.

These will affect roads in Leamington town centre, Lillington, Cubbington, Weston-under-Wetherley, Hunningham, Offchurch, and Radford Semele. The closures operate between 6am and 2pm, depending on the roads affected.

Full details of all the closures in effect can be found at the race website www.leamingtonspahalfmarathon.co.uk

For 2023, The Myton Hospices are the brand new charity partner for the race, helping to raise funds and awareness of this incredibly important local charity.

Myton has three hospices in Coventry, Rugby and Warwick, and have the only hospice inpatient beds in Coventry and Warwickshire. They care for people living with a wide range of terminal illnesses.

Runners will have the option to enter the race for free by committing to fundraising £100 for The Myton Hospices, and a portion of the profits from the race will be donated directly to the charity to help fund the continued support of their patients and families.

All event finishers have the option to purchase a race T shirt and finishers medal to collect at the finish line, and as with all of Raceways’ events, there will be a children’s 1km Fun Run which is free to enter.

Entries are now open.
