SANTA Claus will be parking his sleigh at the Royal Priors shopping centre in Leamington this Christmas.
He will be handing out presents to children and hoping to beat last year’s total of £1,700 raised for local charities.
Organised by Leamington Rotary Club, which is celebrating its centenary this year, Santa will be at the shopping mall on Saturday December 13 between 10am and 5pm, and again on Sunday December 14 between 11am and 4pm, when his elves will be helping children to choose a free toy from a huge selection.
Event organiser Rotarian Colin Robertson said Leamington Town Council had made a substantial grant towards the cost of the toys and that he hoped to beat last year’s record of 630 children receiving gifts.
He added: “Thanks also to those Rotarians and their friends and families for making it all possible.”
Leamington Rotary Club holds a number of annual fundraising events for local charities, including the highly successful classic car show in the Pump Room Gardens and the Taste of Leamington dining experience, and new members are always welcome.
