See Lord Leycester Hospital in a new light

Leamington Editorial 23rd Mar, 2017   0

THE LORD Leycester Hospital in Warwick can now be seen in a new light.

The historic High Street building, most of which dates from the 14th century, has new floodlights thanks to Warwick Court Leet.

The old sodium floodlights had not been switched on in over a decade owing to the expense of running them, which prompted a request for a grant for new lights from Warwick Court Leet – an ancient body which continues to help improve the town – who were only to happy to support the project.

Heidi Meyer, Master of the Lord Leycester Hospital, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Warwick Court Leet for funding the replacement lights that now enable this magnificent building to be seen in all its glory at night.”

Funds to pay for the floodlight project were raised at the Warwick Court Leet Beer and Cider Festival, which this year takes place at Warwick Race Course on July 21 and 22.
