Shopkeeper assaulted in Long Itchington

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a shop keeper was assaulted in Long Itchington.

The assault took place outside the shop in Church Lane at around 5.15pm on Monday (June 5).

A man is understood to have entered the store and stolen a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco from the till.

When a member of staff challenged him in the car park and asked him to return the products, he is reported to have punched him.




He suffered facial injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

The man, who is described as white, of average build, in his late 30s/early 40s, and around six foot tall, was wearing a blue polo top, navy blue jeans and black shoes.


Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information or who was in the area at the time should contact Warwickshire Police quoting incident 323 of 5 June.
