Skydiving youngsters raise £19,000 for charity

SKYDIVING students took a leap of faith to raise nearly £19,000 for a local youth charity.

Some 40 pupils from schools including Myton, Rugby, Warwickshire College and Stratford Girls Grammar School took on a skydive in aid of Young People First, formerly Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs.

The event has been running for the past three years and charity spokesman David Skoppek said 2018 has been the most successful to date.

He said: “All credit must go to the brave young people and all those who have supported by sponsoring them. All the money raised will go towards our three projects, Sharp Minds – helping young people with mental health problems, Interdependence – for young people leaving care, and the Brunswick Youth Project – for young people living in Brunswick.”
