THE FORCE was strong in Leamington as Star Wars actors and fans turned out to celebrate 40 years of the film franchise.
The organisers of Leamington Comic Con welcomed ten actors from A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, The Return of The Jedi and The Force Awakens to the ‘Spa Wars’ convention at All Saints Parish Church.
But the actors were not the only ones to stand out – visitors to the event dressed in their intergalactic finery, from stormtroopers to budding Darth Vaders.
The convention – which was held in the run-up to the release of new film The Last Jedi – included replica robots from the Star Wars universe and even a Luke Skywalker Christmas grotto.
Organisers say it was the ‘ultimate warm-up’ for the film and a ‘galactic showcase for fans and families’.
Spokeswoman Lisa-Marie Nelson said: “Spa Wars was the perfect opportunity for fans to meet original Star Wars cast members and get hyped for the latest movie.”
