Suspicious package brings Stratford town centre to a standstill

A SUSPICIOUS package led to parts of Stratford town centre being brought to a standstill this afternoon (Tuesday).

A police cordon was set up around Sheep Street, Chapel Street and Waterside to enable the suspicious package to be removed by specialists.

Firefighters, paramedics and police were all in attendance.

The cordon was removed by 3.40pm.




A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: “The suspicious package has been removed by specialists and is now on its way to a safe location. Thanks everyone for your patience.”
