THIEVES broke into a village shop and stole an ATM machine over the weekend.

They struck at the Co-op in Kineton just before 3am on Saturday morning.

Police arrived to find extensive damage to the Banbury Road store and the ATM missing.

CCTV footage revealed a gang of six men – all with their faces covered – broke into the store and loaded the ATM into a white van, before making off in the van and another vehicle, believed to be an Audi, in the direction of Compton Verney.

The van was located and recovered in Norton Lindsey following a search of the area.

Police are appealing for help to identify the gang. Call 101 quoting incident 41 of March 9, or alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
