A FAMOUS face visited a south Warwickshire dog rehoming centre to help find a loving home for Theo, the gentle giant with a short time to live.
Strictly star and dog-lover Pete Wicks stuck up a bromance with Theo the sofa-loving Neapolitan Mastiff, currently in the care of Dogs Trust Kenilworth, while making his TV show Pete Wicks: For Dog’s Sake.
Theo has a heart condition which will seriously limit his life expectancy.
Nevertheless Pete has joined forces with the team at Dogs Trust, for whom he is an ambassador, to find Theo a loving home to see out the rest of his days, regardless of how long this may be.
Pete is rallying dog lovers across the Midlands—and beyond—to help find this lovable giant the home he truly deserves .
Theo’s story, which is being documented in the upcoming series of Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake, hasn’t been easy. He arrived at Dogs Trust Kenilworth severely underweight after being found as a stray.
With time, TLC, and a healthy diet, he’s gained strength, but vets discovered he has a life-limiting heart condition. While exact timelines are uncertain, and the progression of his condition will depend heavily on how he responds to ongoing treatment and care, it is expected that Theo’s life expectancy could be anywhere between a few months and a couple of years.
Despite this devastating news, Theo is bursting with life and love—ready to bring joy to a special someone who can offer him comfort, companionship, and lots of cuddles.
Pete said: “I fell in love with Theo the moment I met him. He’s a big lad with lots of love to give. He’s the kind of dog who just wants a spot on your sofa and someone to lean on (literally). I’ve met a lot of amazing dogs through Dogs Trust, but Theo is something special, and I am heartbroken that he has such a short life expectancy. I’m calling on dog lovers across the nation to take a chance on him and give him a special home for however long he needs.”
