IT WASN’T just crows that were scared when scarecrows inspired by storybook villains took up pole position in Kenilworth.
A scarecrow hunt of a bone chilling nature was held across the town all last week to mark harvest season.
Beginning at Priors Field School and weaving its way through residential roads, there were plenty of fantastic, yet dastardly, straw-filled creations to spot.
Families visiting the village were able to purchase a trail map and cross off the scarecrows as they went. They also had the chance to vote for their favourite scarecrow in what was certainly a closely run field.
