Volunteers needed at Dogs Trust

Leamington Editorial 5th May, 2017   0

A DOG rehoming centre in Kenilworth is calling for more paws on deck.

Dogs Trust is asking those with a little spare time to become volunteers at the centre.

A number of roles are available, including supporting the charity’s abandoned and unwanted dogs as a Canine Assistant. The voluntary position includes walking, grooming, cleaning out kennels and providing lots of cuddles for the rescue pups.

The home also needs people to help provide support at their new ‘dog school’ classes, which will include setting up, packing away and some administrative tasks.

Volunteers are also needed to perform home visits and ensure new owners are ready to welcome their four-legged friend.

Co-ordinator Marie Charley said: “Volunteers are extremely important to us and we couldn’t care for as many dogs as we do without their help. We are always on the lookout for new recruits and really hope these exciting opportunities will appeal to a wide range of people.

“All volunteers will have full induction training to help them get to grips with their new roles and will get to meet plenty of four-legged friends along the way. If you think you could spare some time to lend a hand, please get in touch.”

Email Marie on [email protected] or call on 0300 303 0292 for more details.
