WARWICK District Council’s CCTV’s team is fully focused on the job in hand.
It recently passed its annual British Standard inspection for the 21st consecutive year, demonstrating the team is operating to the highest standards.
The standard provides guidelines for the management and operation of closed-circuit television control rooms. It covers various aspects of CCTV control room operations including staffing, training, equipment, procedures, and data protection.
The CCTV team operate 24/7 throughout the year and have prevented 35 possible thefts in the last two months by working alongside retailers in the town centres, and have assisted the police with several high profile investigations and operations.
CCTV is more than just crime prevention. In the past few months, the team has also
located nine missing people, and provided reassurance for event organisers putting
on events in the town centres.
WDC spokesman Coun Jim Sinnott said: “I’m extremely proud of the achievements of the CCTV team, who continue to demonstrate their commitment to providing the highest
standards of service in keeping our communities safe.
“I know that the whole team wear this achievement as a badge of honour and
are proud of their involvement in making Warwick District a safer place to live,
work and visit.”
