Warwick district quizzers bank cash for children's hospice

FUNDRAISERS in Warwick district have been exercising their grey matter to bank cash for Together for Short Lives.

Morrisons in Leamington and the Nelson Club in Warwick teamed up to raise funds for the charity, which supports children’s hospices up and down the country, with a quiz night.

The event raised £601 which was match funded by Morrisons to make a total of £1202.

Among the quizzers were the mayors of Warwick, Leamington and Whitnash, while local businesses donated prizes.

Morrisons community champion Alex Pearson said: “It was such a great atmosphere and we were able to raise funds but also make our community aware of what Together for Short Lives is. When you say the word hospice we all think it’s a dark place but it does so much more.

“The hospice supports families with a rest bite and more time to be a family with the support around them. They do look after children when they pass on but with the after care and the fact they can offer more support to siblings is just perfect.”

Morrisons has been supporting Together for Short Lives since February 2022 and have so far raised over £17,000 for the charity.
