Warwick Hospital's neonatal unit set for a "homely" makeover

THE NEONATAL unit at Warwick Hospital is set for a “homely” makeover thanks to a £10,000 donation.

Libby Mae’s Little Angels, a charity that provides support to families who have babies in neonatal units in NHS facilities across the Midlands, received the cash from the Morrisons Foundation. It will be used to improve the Neonatal and Transitional Care Units at Warwick Hospital.

The renovations, which include full redecoration, furniture, soft furnishings and door signs will significantly improve the neonatal and transitional care units for babies and their families.

Charlotte Sharratt, co-founder and trustee of Libby Mae’s Little Angels said: “We are delighted and honoured to have received a grant of £10,000 from The Morrisons Foundation to support a special project at Warwick Hospital. This funding will enable us to renovate the Transitional Care Unit and Neonatal side rooms, spaces that are currently very dated and clinical.

“Our vision is to transform these areas into more homely, welcoming environments where families can feel comforted and supported while spending precious time with their babies. Thanks to this generous grant, we can completely update the rooms and create a much nicer place for families to stay. A heartfelt thank you to Morrisons Foundation for helping us make such a meaningful difference.”

Morrisons Foundation trustee David Scott added: “Having a baby being cared for in the Neonatal Unit can be a stressful time for families and their loved ones. That’s why I’m very proud that the Morrisons Foundation has been able to support Libby Mae’s Little Angels project to transform the care unit at Warwick Hospital. The results will have a great impact on the hospital, as well as the wellbeing and mental health of families and staff.”
